Ahmad Khartabil is the Technical Manager at Transgulf Readymix Concrete Co. A member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), he serves as Chair of the ACI UAE Chapter Events Committee and participates to international committees focused on concrete materials, durability, and sustainability. Bridging the gap between material science and digital innovation, Ahmad seeks the integration of real-time monitoring and digital construction workflows—specifically the intersection of concrete rheology and automated manufacturing—to advance 3D concrete printing and robotic placement technologies.
Khartabil has authored and co-authored several technical journal papers and conference presentations in the field of concrete technology, with a focus on Rheology, sustainable construction, durability, and hot weather concreting. His paper, “Carbonation Resistance of Sustainable Concrete Using Recycled Aggregate and Supplementary Cementitious Materials,” received the Best Presentation Award at the 3rd International Conference on Civil and Building Materials (ICCBM 2019) in Singapore. In 2018, he was awarded the 1st fib-UAE Graduate Fellowship, supported by the UAE Society of Engineers and the fib-UAE Chapter.
His research interests includeconcrete durability and service life, sustainable materials, and the rheology of concrete. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Abu Dhabi University.
